FL

561-793-1084 | | | | | Description: LOXAHATCHEE. Endangered animals aren't confined to cages in this wildlife preserve; instead, visitors are restricted to their cars as they drive around and watch zebras, lions, chimps, and other creatures in naturalistic habitats. Terrain mimicking landscapes in the American West, East Africa, India, Kenya, and Zimbabwe provides animals a familiar home and indicates to visitors what authentic environments are like. Breeding of endangered species is also a primary focus of the zoo. Convertibles are not allowed inside the safari, but vehicles are available for rental. In separate areas of the complex are a petting zoo, free-flight aviaries, miniature golf, a merry-go-round, and a lake cruise. A restaurant and gift shop are added conveniences.
