At the base of Clematis Street, just in front of the public library, this open plaza serves as a gathering place for folks frequenting WPB's revitalized downtown area. Tables and benches allow visitors to take a break from shopping, and concerts held here and at the open-air Meyer Amphitheatre (located nearby) draw music-lovers galore. Probably the most notable feature of the park is its lively fountain. A series of jets spring up from the pavement, unencumbered by a basin. As the jets wax, wane, and change pressure, children run through them, shrieking with delight. Fountain "guards" keep an eye on the merriment and ensure that everyone has a great time. Adults look on the antics with amusement and a bit of nostalgia. |
